WANT TO BE A PART OF THE ACTION?
There are many ways you can get involved with The Basement Door. It's free to join, and you don't have to have a musical bone in your body. So if you're aged between 12 and 22, read on and get in touch...
ON-STAGE
Are you a solo artist or do you play in a band? Want to perform in front of your friends and other musicians in a friendly and encouraging environment? Then The Basement Door is the place for you. Since 2018 we've given a platform to more than 1,000 young musicians and put on more than 250 gigs. If you're interested in performing, get in touch. Who knows, it could be the start of something special.
BACKSTAGE
If you love music, but you're not a performer, there are so many roles you can take on at The Basement Door to help make a gig night happen. From roadie to lighting engineer, music technician to band liaison - without our Back Stage volunteers, our events simply wouldn't happen. You will learn new skills, meet new friends and contribute to creating an amazing event.
FRONT OF HOUSE
Putting on an event requires many different skills. Front of house and hospitality roles are key to ensuring our guests have a great time. From being on the ticket desk, to running the canteen, these are the roles that keep our audience happy and make sure we drive crucial income on gig nights for The Basement Door. You can also learn new skills and get AQA accreditations.
AN AQA REGISTERED TRAINING SITE
Our young volunteers can gain certificates registered by the AQA unit awards scheme. These awards are inclusive and help to enhance the experience at The Basement Door for all young people who want to get involved. AQA's help make young people more employable and supports our goal of achievement for them.
